Virginia M. Hovatter, 91, formerly of New Tripoli, passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2015 in the Liberty Nursing Center, Allentown. She was born in Barbour County, WV, a daughter of the late Teddie R. and Mae (Shahan) Hovatter, Sr. She graduated from the Baltimore City Hospital practical nursing program in 1954 and worked as a LPN for Baltimore City Hospital and Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD and for a hospital in Daytona, FL. She retired from Johns Hopkins and moved to New Tripoli. Survivors includes a sister Beverly H. Levy of Welch, WV; a brother Donald F. Hovatter of Lebanon, IL and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by siblings Anna Lee Merrill, Billy W. Hovatter, Teddie R. Hovatter, Jr., James E. Hovatter and Karen Stevens. Her graveside service and interment will take place on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at 2:00 PM in the Jerusalem Red Church Cemetery, 15 Red Church Road, Kempton, Pa. 19529.
