James D. "Jesse" Waidelich

James D. “ Jesse” Waidelich, 72, of Kempton, passed away at his residence, in the  presence of his family, on Wednesday, April 27, 2016. He was the husband of Betty (Stoudt) Waidelich, having celebrated their 44th wedding aniversary in September of 2015.  He was born in Lynn Township, a son of the late Joseph M. and Mary C. (Lenhart) Waidelich.  He was employed by the Five Points Cricket Farm of Kempton, since 2000. Prior to that he was employed by the former Quaker Maid Kitchens of Leesport, Pa.  James was a member of Jacobs Church, New Tripoli; the Kempton Fire Co. and the Kempton Rod and Gun Club. He was an avid hunter, being also a member of the NRA and the National Wild Turkey Federation. James was a gradute of Northwestern High School class of 1964, after which he faithfully and honorably served his country, during the Viet Nam War, with the U.S. Army.  In addition to his wife he is survived by two daughters, Donna S. wife of Darryl F. Graff and Lynn A. Waidelich; two grandchildren, Kayla R. and Alexander D. Graff all of Kempton, Pa. He was predeceased by a brother, Paul Waidelich. His funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at 11:00 AM in Jacobs Church, 8373 Kings Highway, New Tripoli, Pa. 18066, with calling hours beginning at 9:30 AM.  Burial will take place in the adjoining cemetery. Scott L. Shay will officiate.  Arrangements entrusted to the Robert S. Nester Funeral Home, New Tripoli, Pa.  In lieu of flowers, contributions, in his memory are requested to Jacobs Church Memorial Fund, sent to the above church address.
