Luella A. “Lol” Bowman, 89, of Lynnport, Pa , passed away in the Lehigh Valley Hospital- Allentown, Pa. on Monday morning, March 14, 2016. She was preceeded in death by her husband Fred P. Bowman in 1966. She was born in Lynn Township, a daughter of the late Edgar and Maryjane ( Hollenbach) Hamm. She was employed as a packer for the former LMK and Sondra Fashions, Allentown, Pa., and later at the former Madtes Poultry, New Tripoli and Allentown Farmers Market until retiring in 1986.
She was a member of the Jacobs Church, New Tripoli, the Lynnport Fire Co. auxiliary and the former Northwestern Ambulance Corps auxiliary for over 30 years. Luella is survived by her loving daughters, Barbara A. Rehrig wife of Ed Snyder, Orefield, Pa., Marcia L. wife of David Miller and Monica J. wife of Angel Rodriguez both of New Tripoli; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and ten great-great-grandchildren.
She was the last survivor of a family of twelve children. Her Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at 11:00 AM in the Robert S. Nester Funeral Home, 8405 Kings Highway, New Tripoli, Pa. 18066, with calling hours on Wednesday from 6 to 7:30 PM and Thursday from 10 to 11:00 AM. Rev. Scott L. Shay will officiate. Interment will take place in West Penn Evangelical Cemetery, Andreas, Pa. In lieu of flowers contributions in her memory are requested to the Lehigh Valley Hospice and/or to Forgotten Felines and Fidos, sent C/O the above funeral home address.
