Dear George, Walter, and Gail,

It was with much sadness that I learned of Gloria's passing. She was a special lady and I admired her not only for her her kindness and leadership but for all the guideance she gave to us when we were kids growing up in Kempton...whether it was in Sunday school activities at New Bethel or guiding us in the Christmas programs at church when we were little, or helping with 4-H activities, etc. She was always there offering encouragement and helping wherever needed. I remember her as always having a kind word to say to all and always giving of herself for the betterment of others.

They say (in addition to one's parents) .... it takes a village to help raise a child. I truly believe this as I look back on my growing up years in Kempton. There were many people in our Kempton community who were instrumental in helping to mold and shape me into the person I am today. In addition to my parents, these individuals were there to guide, teach, and instill in me the customs, values, morals, and beliefs to which I hold steadfast today, Doris Howerter, Lois Long, Anne Turn, Vernette Meyers, Rosa Wagaman, and Gloria were just a few of these many individuals who impacted my life. Now,as a grown adult, wife , and the mother of a grown child myself... I hope that I have been just as successful in striving to teach and instill in my daughter the many values, morals, and beliefs that these ladies helped instill in me so many years ago. As a retired elementary teacher having taught for 31 years , I had the awesome responsiblity of getting my Kindergarten students started out on the right foot as they begin their educational journey. I hope i was successful in being a good role model for them. I hope that the lessons learned, the values and beliefs instilled in me by my parents and the wondeful Kempton ladies who gave of their time .....will now live on and imapct the lives of my students and help them to be succesful in life as they go through life. I am forever grateful for the endeavors of these wonderful Kemtpon ladies and the interest they took in me during my formative years. Because of them I was able to make a difference in the lives of others.

I know that as a wife and mother, and grandmother, Gloria will be deeply missed. I hope that you may you find comfort in the memoires of the special times that you shared with her. May you also find comfort in knowing that she is with our Lord and Saviour and that she will never really be gone....for in our hearts her memory will linger on and she will always be with us no matter where we are. Please know that I will keep you and your families in my thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time.
