Evelyn A. Weisner, 98, formerly of Kempton, passed away on Friday morning, July 8, 2016 in the Laurel Living Center, Hamburg, Pa. She was preceeded in death by her husband Alton L. Weisner in 2006. She was born in New Tripoli, Pa. a daughter of the late Thomas and Ida (Scheetz) Hamm. Evelyn was employed as a cook for the Albany Elementary School of the Kutztown School District for 28 years, retiring in 1986. She was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church, Stony Run, Pa., where she also formerly sang on the church choir. She is survived by her daughter in law, Doris H. (Smith), (Weisner), wife of Russell H. Miller of Kempton; a sister, Joyce I. Baer of Whitehall; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband she was also predeceased by a son Richard A. Weisner and siblings Vera Fink, Mildred R. Wessner, Victor J., Wilmer A. and Clifford S. Hamm. Her Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at 11:00 AM in Friedens Lutheran Church, 9727 Red Road, Stony Run, Pa. 19529, with a calling hour beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. Rev. Susan M. Horst will officiate. Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to Friedens Luth.
