William Nicholas Obituary

William M. (“Taters”) Nicholas, 76, of New Tripoli, PA. passed away at the Lutheran Home at Topton, Topton, PA. on January 25, 2021. He was the loving husband of Susan J. (Handwerk) Nicholas, with whom he celebrated 54 years of marriage in February 2020. Born in Allentown, PA., he was the son of the late William A. and Mary Ann (Skolinsky) Nicholas. Bill was a 1962 graduate of Northwestern Lehigh High School, and a 1966 graduate of Muhlenberg College in Allentown, PA. He was a self-employed potato farmer for many years and later worked as a mechanic for the Blue Ridge Country Club in Palmerton, PA. In addition to his devoted wife, survivors include his two sons, Shane A. (Michelle) Nicholas of Anthem, AZ. and Michael A. (Emily) Nicholas of Ypsilanti, MI.; six grandchildren, Amber, Andrew, Emily, Ash, Greta, and Nell; two sisters, Carol Nicholas and Christine (Steven) Rowe, both of New Smithville, PA.; brother, Peter (Sharon) Nicholas of Schnecksville, PA. There will be a private celebration of life gathering at the convenience of the family.
