William S. Follweiler, 82 of Slatington, Pa.
Died suddenly on Tuesday October 15th at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown, Pa.
He was the husband of Rita V. (Yacobenas) Follweiler whom he celebrated 61 years of marriage with on March 22.
He was born in New Tripoli on Feb 5. 1931,a son of the late Elwood and Helen (Sittler)Follweiler.
William was a truck driver for 43 years for Phillips feed and Grain in Germansville, Modern Transfer in Allentown and Yellow Freight System in Bethlehem and Norristown until retiring in 1993.
He was a faithful member of Jacob’s Church, Jacksonsville,New Tripoli, PA. He enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening, listening to country music and spending time with his family. He especially liked traveling to Florida during the winter months each year. Survivors: wife Rita ; Daughters Diane R. wife of Ralph Wertman of New Tripoli, Linda F. wife of Jeffrey Trexler of Slatington, Bernice M. wife of Eric Miller, New Tripoli and a son Darrin W.Follweiler and his wife Diane of Walnutport; 7grandchildren,4 step grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren and a son in law Richard Yacobenas , at home. He was also predeceased by siblings, Faye George and Paul Follweiler. His Funeral Services will be held on Sat. October 19, 2013 at 10:30 AM in Jacobs Church, 8373 Kings Highway, New Tripoli, Pa. 18066, with a calling hour beginning at 9:30 AM. Rev. Scott L. Shay, officiating. Interment in adjoining cemetery.
