Shirley E. (Hausman) Ruppert

Shirley E. (Hausman) Ruppert, 91, of Lenhartsville, PA passed away peacefully at home on April 3, 2025. She was the widow of William S. Ruppert, who passed away in 2019. Born in Lynn Township, PA, she was the daughter of the late Norman H. and Agnes E. (Peiffer) Hausman.

Shirley's most cherished role was raising her seven daughters, though she also worked outside the home occasionally. She had the opportunity to meet Mr. Rogers when she was hired to clean for him in his Allentown home. She also spent time drilling cast-iron gas burners for Paul Nester in Kempton. Shirley was a member of Jacob's Church in New Tripoli.  She enjoyed crocheting and caring for her flowers and vegetable garden.

Survivors include her daughters, Lucille A. Miller, at home, Loretta (Bruce) Peters of New Tripoli, Carolyn (Gary) Krick of Lenhartsville, Brenda (Michael) Lentz of Germansville, Doris (John) Turko of Kempton, Rita (Rich) Reinhart of New Tripoli, and Teresa (Steven) Riegel of New London, NC; twenty-five grandchildren, fifty-seven great-grandchildren, and fourteen great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her granddaughter, Crystal Dawn Turko.

Shirley’s funeral service will be on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at 11 AM in the Nester Funeral Home, 8405 Kings Highway, New Tripoli. Calling hour will begin at 10 AM. Rev. Stanley C. Newton will officiate. Interment in Jacob’s Union Cemetery, New Tripoli.
