Shirlene J. (Rinker) Silfies, 85, of New Tripoli, PA passed away at home on February 27, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. She was the widow of Jack S. Silfies, who passed away in 2012. Born in Emmaus, PA., she was a daughter of the late Harvey and Mildred (Kline) Rinker. Shirlene was a graduate of Allen High School, Allentown, PA. She later opened Shirlene’s School of Dance in New Tripoli, where she was a self-employed dance instructor from 1980-2013. Shirlene was also the owner and artist of Santa Legends in New Tripoli. She was a member of Central Moravian Church in Bethlehem, PA. She was a founder of the Jacksonville Summer Theatre for fourteen years. She choreographed many high school plays for the Northwestern and Kutztown School Districts. Shirlene was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Survivors include her daughter, Jodi E. (Michael) Stanley of New Tripoli; sons, Gary L. Silfies of Allentown and Tim D. Silfies of New Tripoli; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Sharon (Bill) Wanko of Tafton, PA; brother-in-law, Bruce Kotenbeutel of New Ringgold, PA; several nieces and a nephew. She was predeceased by a sister, Patricia Kotenbeutel. SERVICE UPDATE: Shirlene's memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2022 at 11:00 AM in Central Moravian Church, 73 W. Church St. Bethlehem, PA 18018. Calling hour to begin at 10:00 AM. Rev. Maggie Wellert will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name may be made to her church, sent directly to 73 W Church St Bethlehem, PA 18018.
