Shelba J. (Grumbles) Mengel

Shelba J. (Grumbles) Mengel, 79, of New Tripoli, PA passed away on March 13, 2022 in the Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest, Allentown, PA. She was the devoted wife of Franklin E. “Skip” Mengel, with whom she celebrated 55 years of marriage on April 14, 2021. Born in San Saba, TX, she was the daughter of Cecil and Willie (Carpenter) Grumbles. Shelba was employed with the Hartford Life Insurance Company in Allentown as a service representative until retirement. She greatly enjoyed bird watching with her husband, and spending time with her beloved family. In addition to her husband, survivors include her daughter, Susan J. Mengel-Snyder of New Tripoli; sons, Michael D. (Jaime) Mengel of Ironton, and Gregory H. (Veronica) French of Brownsville, IN; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother, Bobby Grumbles, Denton, TX. She was predeceased by an infant son, John French. There will be a private memorial service held on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at 10:30 AM in the Robert S. Nester Funeral Home, 8405 Kings Highway New Tripoli, PA 18066.  Rev. Dr. Robert C.
