Sandra J. (Potzman) Acker, 62 of New Tripoli, PA passed away on December 27, 2021 at the Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest, Allentown PA. She was the wife of Robert Acker for the past 22 years. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Robert A. and Doris P. (Faust) Potzman.
Sandy was a 1977 graduate of Kutztown Area High School. She had various employers over the years but worked several years at the former Terry’s Place in New Smithville, the Kutztown Manor and both the Former Kistler’s and Schleicher’s Restaurants in New Tripoli. She also worked for the Transfer Station for Lynn Township.
She was a member of Jacob’s Church in New Tripoli. She also was a member of the Lynnport, Kempton and New Tripoli Fire Companies. In the past, Sandy volunteered and was a Board Member for the Lynnport Fire Company. Sandy had a passion for Bingo, feeding the numerous deer that would come into the backyard and she was a faithful viewer of The Young and the Restless since its debut in 1973. Sandy was known for her contagious laugh and her smile.
In addition to her loving husband, survivors include her daughter, Amanda D. wife of Kenneth Seibert Jr., New Tripoli; step-daughter, Jessica Lloyd, Schnecksville, and her furbaby, Mask; grandchildren, Mary, Ashlyn, Kayden, Molly, Kolten and her fur grandbaby Cora; sisters, Marilyn (Frank) Egner of Emmaus PA, Shirley (Newell “Buddy”) Arnold of Mohrsville PA, Judith (Michael) Weaver of Laureldale PA. She was predeceased by her son, Gary G. “Butch” Brobst Jr. and her brother, Robert A. Potzman, Jr.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name can be made to The Lynnport Community Fire Company and sent to PO Box 14 New Tripoli PA 18066.
SERVICE UPDATE:
There will be a Celebration of Life to honor and remember Sandy on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at the Lynnport Community Fire Company at 7164 Behler Rd. New Tripoli, PA 18066. Doors open at 11:30 AM. Memorial will start at Noon. Rev. Tad Schlegel will officiate. A luncheon will follow and then a social gathering.
