Robert R. Hicks

Robert R. Hicks, 85, of Germansville, PA. passed away on February 8, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Bernice L. (Rauch) Hicks, with whom he celebrated 63 years of marriage in December of 2020. Born in Grass Valley, CA., he was the son of the late Clayton R. and Jessie L. (Bertoncini) Hicks. Robert was a veteran, having served in the US Navy as a dental technician from 1954-1958, and then later worked as a self-employed excavator for many years until retiring in 2016. Robert was a member of Jacob’s Church in New Tripoli, PA. In addition to his devoted wife, survivors include his daughter, JoAnne L. (Carl W.) Givler, II of Germansville, PA.; son, Robert R. (Anne L.) Hicks, Jr. of Germansville, PA.; step-siblings, Carma Barnes and Marvin Stearns, both of Boise, ID.; half-sisters, Linda Bourke and Sandra (David) Edson, both of Elko, NV.; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother, James Hicks, and his stepfather, Clark Stearns. A private service was held in the Robert S. Nester Funeral Home, followed by a private interment in Jacob’s Union Cemetery, New Tripoli, PA. Rev. Scott L. Shay officiated. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Robert’s name may be made to Jacob’s Church Memorial Fund c/o Robert S. Nester Funeral Home, 8405 Kings Highway New Tripoli, PA 18066.
