Rachel M. (Ruppert) Kratzer

Rachel M. Kratzer, 91, of Kutztown, passed away on Wed. Jan. 14, 2015 in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown, Pa. She was the widow of Franklin P. Kratzer.  She was born in Alburtis, a daughter of the late Harvey and Esther (Trexler) Ruppert.  Rachel was employed in the food service dept. of the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown, for 6 years, retiring in 1985. Prior to that she worked for the former Saucony Shoe Factory of Macungie and Kutztown, for 20 years. She was a member of Jacobs Church, New Tripoli, Pa. and a former member and custodian of the Weisenberg Union Church, New Tripoli, Pa.  Survivors includes a daughter, Marion L. Bauer of Kembridge, VA.; a son Jerry J. Kratzer of Dwight, Kansas; a sister Shirley Moss of Mertztown; a brother Carl Ruppert of Breinigsville; 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great- grandchildren and a great-great-great grandson. She was also preceeded in death by daughters, Grace B. Reinert, Lillian J. Boger, a son Francis P. Kratzer, a granddaughter Carolyn Bohn and a great-grandaughter Laura Bauer.   Her Funeral Service will be held on Wed., January 21, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the Nester Funeral Home, 8405 Kings Highway, New Tripoli, Pa., with Rev. Scott L. Shay officiating.  A calling hour will preceed the service beginning at 10:00 AM.  Interment will take place in Weisenberg Lutheran Church Cemetery, New Tripoli, Pa. In Lieu of flowers, contributions are requested to Jacobs Church Memorial Fund, 8373 Kings Highway, New Tripoli, Pa. 18066.
