Oscar Enoch Kleinsmith, 84, of Greenwich Township, went to be with his Lord on February 26, 2022 in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown, Pa. He was the husband of Nancy L. (Serfass) Kleinsmith. They celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary in November of 2021. He was born in Emmaus, a son of the late Edwin and Luella (Rohrbach) Kleinsmith. He was a self-employed farmer in Albany Township for 35 years until retiring in 1992. He also worked part time as a milk truck driver for the former Carl Loch Milk Hauling in New Tripoli. He also drove for Albright’s Mill, the former Kunkel’s Mill of Kempton, Hunter Keystone Peterbilt for eight years, Berk Excavating, and R.S. Snyder from 2006 until 2021. Oscar was a member of Ziegel’s U.C.C. Church, Breinigsville, PA, where he served as the current Treasurer and former Councilman. Oscar was very active in his community, serving as Albany Township Supervisor and Roadmaster for 18 years; Roadmaster for Greenwich Township for 21 years, retiring in 2006, and serving as a Greenwich Township Supervisor for 6 years and currently serving on the Township Planning Commission since 1999. He was also a former President of the Kempton Rod and Gun Club; a Lifetime Member and former Fire Chief for the Kempton Fire Co. for 25 years. He was a Director of the Kempton Community Center for several years during which time he ran the Tractor Pull for over 20 years. He was a member of the board and current treasurer and former Unner Hauptman for the Grundsow Lodge #15, Kutztown. In addition to his loving wife, survivors include three sons, Timmy A. Kleinsmith and his companion, Lisa Dietrich, Terry L. (Barbara) Kleinsmith, both of Kempton, and Ted L (Gail) Kleinsmith of Winston Salem, NC; a brother Earl E. Kleinsmith of Emmaus; ten grandchildren; Kyanti, wife of Mihir Patel, Chantel, wife of Joe Faller, Slate (Katelyn), Takyra wife of Alan Batz, Jared (Whitney), Cassie, Carrisa, Treasure, Isaac and Ezra; also four great-grandchildren, Mason, Juliana, Chase and Meko. His Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2022 at 11:00 AM in the Robert S. Nester Funeral Home, 8405 Kings Highway New Tripoli, PA 18066, with calling hours beginning at 9:30 AM. His interment will be private. Rev. Dr. Larry D. Pickens will officiate. In Lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory are requested to the Kempton Fire Co Truck Crew, sent to P.O. Box 62 Kempton, PA 19529.
