Norman George Spangenberg, Jr. of Stony Run, PA passed away at home on February 12, 2025, at the age of 84. He was born on July 15, 1940 in Abington, PA, to the late Norman G. and Mary A. (Livezey) Spangenberg. Norman lived a life full of adventure, hard work, and love for the great outdoors. He proudly served in the United States Air Force from September 1958 to August 1962.
Following his service, he built a long and dedicated career in the telephone industry, having last worked for the former Bell of Pennsylvania until retirement. An outdoorsman at heart, Norman found joy in hunting, fishing, and raising hunting dogs. He had a deep respect for nature and spent countless hours in the wilderness, embracing the peace and challenge it offered.
Norman is survived by his four children, Norman G. Spangenberg, III, Kellie S. (Jay) Cramer, Paul D. (Georgia) Spangenberg, and Matthew T. (Amy) Spangenberg; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Peggy Christy, who remains a cherished part of the family. He was predeceased by his first wife, Judith Marion Spangenberg, the mother of his children. Though life brought its challenges, Norman’s legacy lives on in the family he leaves behind and in the memories shared by those who knew him.
A private family gathering will be held to honor his life. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations be made to the American Cancer Society in his memory
