Marlin E. “Hoagie” Hamm, 70, of New Tripoli, PA. passed away at home on June 13, 2020.  He was the husband of Janice D. “Susie” (Silfies) Hamm, with whom he celebrated 43 years of marriage in November 2019. Born in Allentown, PA., he was the son of the late Ernest A. and Miriam F. (Friebolin) Hamm. Hoagie was a 1967 graduate of Northwestern Lehigh High School, New Tripoli, PA., and a 1969 graduate of Allentown Business School. He went on to work for the former Bethlehem Steel for 30 years in the accounts payable department. Later, he worked as a deposit operations representative for the New Tripoli Bank, until retiring in 2015. He was a member of Jacob’s Church in New Tripoli. Hoagie was an active member in his community. He was a lifetime member, former Vice President, trustee, and Assistant Fire Chief for the Lynnport Fire Co. in New Tripoli. He was also a member of the Kempton, New Tripoli, and Germansville Fire Companies, as well as, a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Hamburg #523, Huguenot Lodge #377 F&AM Kutztown, Rajah Shrine, Reading, PA., Ontelaunee Rod and Gun Club in New Tripoli, Heidelberg Game Protective Assn., and the Knights of the Golden Eagle Lodge #1. In addition to his loving wife, survivors include three daughters, Heather A. wife of Kevin L. Utt of New Tripoli, Tracy L. wife of Edward J. Sawyer of Kempton, and Melinda S. wife of James F. Wessner of New Tripoli; sister, Darlene A. D’Agostine of St. Augustine, FL.; brother, Wilbur A. (Sharon) Hamm of Aurora, CO.; nine grandchildren; four aunts and two uncles. There will be a private funeral service at the convenience of the family.  Rev. Scott L. Shay will officiate. A memorial gathering will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Marlin’s name can be sent directly to the Lynnport Community Fire Company at 7164 Behler Road New Tripoli, PA 18066.
