Marijo ( Manganello)Bailey,78, of Kempton, Pa., gracefully entered Eternal Life on March 8, in the Reading Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

Marijo was born on April 29, 1935 in Wilkes-Barre, PA.  She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary ( McDade) Manganello, and granddaughter of Angelo and Frieda Manganello, and Frank and Mary McDade.  Marijo was a graduate of Hanover High School, Wilkes-Barre.

Her infant son, Frankie, preceded her in death, in 1971.  She is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Richard W. “Rick” Bailey, who was her primary care-giver and devoted spouse. She is also survived by her daughters, Mary Beth Miozza of Kutztown, Diane Wedd (Kerry) of Leesport, Kathy Brensinger of Oley, Margo Mengel of Blandon, Patricia Werley (Robert) of New Smithville and Regina Newell (Marty) of Philadelphia, also by sons Joseph  Miozza (Dru) of Riverside FL., Angelo  Miozza (Patricia) of Denver, Pa.; sisters Margo Maffei (Lou) of Wilkes Barre and Teri Shehwen (Bill) of Braden, FL; brothers Joe Manganello (Sandy) of Denver,Pa, Angelo Manganello (Alice) of Wilkes Barre, and Jerry Manganello (Vivian) of Harrisburg.  She also leaves behind 2 step-daughters Beth Christman of Saylorsburg, Laura Bailey of Breinigsville;2 step-sons Ricky P. Bailey, New Tripoli, Duane Bailey, Breinigsville; 18 granchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and also 16 step-grandchildren,4 step-great- grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.  Her beloved sister Ann Rached, passed away in October 2011.  Nephews, Louie Maffei and Michael Manganello also preceded her in death. She was a member of St.Mary’s R.C. Church of Hamburg, Pa. We would be remiss not to mention her treasured dog, Nally, who was a faithful friend to the end.

Marijo left a lasting effect on everyone she met. Her kindness and selflessness to her family and friends was incomparable.  She never ceased to amaze people with her acts of kindness and thoughtfulness.  Marijo was an example of total self-giving and compassion.  Her last years of suffering were hidden from most....complaining words were never uttered from her mouth.  Her love is the crown jewel in her legacy.She will be sorely missed by all, but her love is forever!

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 14, 2014 at 10:00 AM in St. Mary’s R.C. Church, 94 Walnut Road, Hamburg, Pa 19526, with interment following in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Lee Park , Hanover Twsp., Pa. No calling hours. In lieu of flowers contributions in her memory are requested to the Retinitis Pigmentosa Foundation, PO Box 17279, Baltimore MD. 21298. Arrangements by the Nester Funeral Home, New Tripoli, Pa.
