Marcia L. Boyesen, 77, of Kempton, PA. passed away in the Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest, Allentown, PA. on January 20, 2021. She was the wife of the late Eyvind H. Boyesen, who passed away in 2010. Born in Abington, PA, she was the daughter of the late Carl H. and Aileen (King) Synnestvedt. Marcia was a devoted mother and homemaker and loved raising her family. She was an extremely active member of Kempton New Church and was instrumental in starting a private church school there. When her children were grown, she had pursued her love of singing and produced several independent folk style albums. Later in life, Marcia and her husband spent a great deal of time in Norway, where her husband and her father’s ancestors originated. After her husband’s passing, she stayed at her home in Pennsylvania continuing to sing, helping her church, and watching her beloved grandchildren grow up. Survivors include four sons Eyvind C. Boyesen of Bryn Athyn, PA., Dag (Sharon) Boyesen of Slatington, PA., Bengt Boyesen of Kempton, PA., and Glenn E. (Brittany) Boyesen of Kutztown, PA.; three daughters, Lynn (Jon) Abeln of Kempton, PA., Melissa (Hank) Hayes of Virginia Beach, VA., and Aileen (Keith David) Smith of Watertown, MA.; seventeen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Jeremy (Judy) Synnestvedt of Kempton, PA.; sisters, Joan (Bush) Henry of Bryn Athyn, PA. and Gwen Hodgell of North Wales, PA. A private family worship will be held this Saturday, January 23, 2021. There will be a public resurrection service sometime in the spring or summer. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Marcia’s name can be sent to the Kempton New Church for the Music Program at 583 Hawk Mountain Road Kempton, PA 19529.
