Lovie M. (Turner) Smith

Lovie M. (Turner) Smith, 103, of Allentown, PA, passed away on May 31, 2023 in New Tripoli, PA. Born in Albany Township, PA, she was a daughter of the late Elmer and Jennie (Miller) Turner. Lovie was a former waitress, having last worked for the Woolworth Store Crest Plaza in Allentown, until she retired.

Survivors include her son, William R. Smith of Allentown; daughters, Lana E. (Robert) Fuhrmeister of Middletown, DE, Janice E. Smith of Catasauqua, PA, and Deborah J. (Anthony) Salvatore of New Tripoli, with whom she last resided; grandchildren, David (Melissa) Fuhrmeister, Lisa (Phil) Barney, and Terri (Chris) Crawford; great-grandchildren, Sara and Abby Fuhrmeister. Lovie was predeceased by her companion, Lester E. Rhodes in 2000; and siblings, Leon Turner and Elda Hoffman-Wanamaker.

Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at 3:00 PM in the Nester Funeral Home, Inc., 8405 Kings Highway New Tripoli, with a calling hour to begin at 2:00 PM. Rev. Robert Billig, Jr. will officiate. Private interment in New Bethel Union Cemetery, Kempton, PA.
