Lois E. (Wotring) Long

Lois E. Long, 83, of Kempton died on March 3, 2015 in the Inpatient Hospice of the Lehigh Valley Hosp. Allentown.  She was the wife of the late Warren A. Long.  She was born in Schnecksville, a daughter of the late Dewey and Helen ( Krause) Wotring. Lois was a 1950 graduate of Parkland High School.  She was first employed as a secretary for the former Trojan Powder Co, Allentown, until her marriage in 1952. She  then became a military wife following Warren to Maine and Texas.  After raising her 2 children, she was employed by the former Continental Telephone Co. until her retirement in 1987.  She was a member of  New Bethel Church, Kempton, where she taught Sunday school for 50 years and served  on council and numerous committees for many years. Lois was a long time member of the Kempton Lioness Club and the Red Hats.  She was a devoted mother and grandmother. Lois loved to cross stitch, read and travel with family and friends.  She is survived  by her daughter Linda S. wife of Richard A. Foulke of Kempton ; a son Richard W. Long and his wife Donna of Shoemakersville; a sister Betty Kern, Schnecksville and 2 beloved granddaughters, Lauren A. ( Foulke) wife of Kenneth Hugo, Jr. and Jessica A. Long.  She was predeceased  by siblings Lee and Jean Wotring.  Her Funeral Service will be held on Sat. March 7, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the New Bethel Church, 135 New Bethel Church Road, Kempton, Pa. 19529, with calling hours beginning at 9:30 AM.  Rev. David W. Blitch will officiate.  Interment in the adjoining Cemetery.  Arrangements by the Nester Funeral Home- New Tripoli, Pa.   In lieu of flowers , contributions may be made to New Bethel Church Memorial fund sent to the above church address.
