Karen P. (Gruber) Strohl, 64, of Slatington, PA, formerly of Germansville, PA, passed away on June 12, 2022 in Willow Brook Nursing and Rehab Center in Kutztown, PA. She was the widow of Frederick R. Strohl, who passed away in 2010. Born in Allentown, PA, she was a daughter of Mildred A. (Wotring) Gruber-Wertman and the late Kenneth I. Gruber. Karen worked for Cedarbrook Nursing Home as a nurse aide for 15 years until retiring in 1995. She was a member of Heidelberg Union Church in Slatington. In addition to her loving mother, survivors include her son, Jeffrey A. Strohl, and his companion Ashley Turock, of Nesquehoning, PA; stepson, Frederick M. Strohl of New Tripoli; two grandchildren; sister, Marie M. Gressley and stepsister, Marlene Wertman, both of Germansville; nieces and a nephew. She was predeceased by her stepfather, Carl Wertman, and stepsister, Linda Hunsicker. Karen’s memorial service will be held on Friday, June 17, 2022 at 11:00 AM in Heidelberg Union Church, 5187 Irvin Rd Slatington, PA 18080, with a calling period at 10:00 AM. Interment in adjoining cemetery. Rev. Michelle G. Funk will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name may be sent to Sights for Hope at 845 W. Wyoming St Allentown, PA 18103.
