Jenny-Lou Kemmen Fisher, 79, of Kempton, PA passed away at home on February 16, 2022. She was the loving wife of Dr. Larry Fisher for the past 50 years. Born in Bryn Mawr, PA, she was the daughter of Hugo and Helen (Barnes) Kemmen. She was a 1960 graduate of Lower Marion High school. She then earned her BA in Anthropology from University of Pennsylvania, which included a History teaching certificate. She taught for 11 years at Radnor High School. Jenny and Larry were married in 1971. Later, the couple moved to State College where Larry served as Assistant Director of the Penn State Band program. Jenny went on to earn her M.Ed. in Reading Development from Penn State University where she was employed part time as a tutor for some of Joe Paterno’s football players. Jenny was employed as a reading specialist for Pocono Mountain School District while Larry was Professor of Music History and Department Chair at East Stroudsburg University. They both retired in 2001 and built a home in Albany Twp., near Kempton. In addition to her husband, survivors include her daughter, Amy S. (Ryan) Thompson of Media, PA; son, Kurt (Christine) Fisher of Nazareth, PA; and three grandchildren. Jenny-Lou was predeceased by her brother, James Kemmen. In accordance with the family’s wishes, there will be no formal services at this time.
