Jan E. Fetherolf-Shick

Jan E. Fetherolf-Shick, 71, of New Tripoli, PA, passed away peacefully at home on April 26, 2023. She was the widow of Robert R. Shick, Sr., who passed away in 2018. Born in Allentown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Donald J. and Grace E. (Nagle) Fetherolf.

Jan was a 1969 graduate of Northwestern Lehigh High School in New Tripoli, and later attended Lea College in Minnesota for Journalism. She worked as a bakery manager for Weis Markets in Hamburg, PA and later in Schnecksville, PA until retiring. Jan had a gift for writing. She especially loved to write poetry and children’s stories. Jan’s work has been published in several children’s magazines.

Survivors include her brothers, Daniel J. (Kathy) Fetherolf of Germansville, PA, Steven B. (Margaret) Fetherolf of Fleetwood, PA, and Donald B. (Lisa) Fetherolf of New Tripoli, PA; stepson, Robert R. (Jen) Shick, Jr. of Fleetwood, PA; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Terry Fetherolf.

There will be a celebration of life gathering on May 20, 2023 from 12:00-4:00PM at Lynnport Community Fire Co., 7164 Behler Road New Tripoli, PA 18066. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name may be made to the Lynnport Community Fire Co., sent to address above.
