Herbert K. Schick, 82, of Kutztown, passed away on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at his residence. He was the husband of Annamarie ( Grummt) Schick . They celebrated their 61st wedding aniversary in July 2014. He was born in Philadelphia, a son of the late Karl and Emma ( Kiedaisck) Schick. He was a self employed farmer in Greenwich Township operating Schick Farms. Herbert was the former chairman of the Greenwich Township Planning Commission and a member and treasurer of the Pa. Pork Producers Council. He was also a member of Jacobs Church of New Tripoli. Herbert served his country honorably and faithfully as a member of the U.S. Navy from 1953 to 1955. In addition to his wife he is survived by a daughter, Cynthia M. wife of Thomas Merkey of Alburtis; two sons, Otto K.( Renee) Schick and Paul H.( Susan) Schick both of Kutztown; six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother Elmer Schick. His Funeral Service will be held on Friday, Nov. 21, 2014 at 11:00 AM in Jacobs Church, 8373 Kings Highway, New Tripoli, Pa. 18066, with calling hours beginning at 9:30 AM. Rev. Scott L. Shay will officiate. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. In Lieu of flowers contributions in his memory may be made to the Jacobs Church Memorial Fund sent in care of the above church address.
