Harold F. Christ, 96, of Maxatawny, Pa., died on Feb. 18, 2015 in the Topton Lutheran Home. He was preceeded in death by his wife Bernetta A. ( Snyder) Christ on Feb. 17, 2014. He was born in Kutztown, a son of the late George J. and Mary A.( Adam) Christ. Harold was last employed as a grounds keeper for Kutztown University for 12 years until retiring in 1983. Prior to that he was employed as a laborer for the former Lehigh Portland Cement Co., Allentown, from 1951 to 1970. He was a member of Mount Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Kutztown, Pa. He is survived by a son, Donald H. Christ and his wife Arlene C. of Pottstown, Pa. and 4 grandchildren. In addition to his wife he was predeceased by a son Larry Christ in 2007 and a grandson Kirk Christ in 1989. His Funeral service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 21, 2015 at 10:30 AM in the Nester Funeral Home 8405 Kings Highway, New Tripoli, Pa. 18066, with a calling hour beginning at 9:30 AM. Rev. Dennis Ritter will officiate. Interment in New Bethel Zion Cemetery, Kutztown. Memorial contributions may be sent to Mt. Zion Evang. Lutheran Church memorial fund, 1343 Long Lane Road, Kutztown, Pa. 19530.
