George A. Rauch, 86, of New Tripoli, PA. passed away on June 8, 2021 at home. Born October 23, 1934 in New Tripoli, PA. he was the son of the late Charles J.D. and Mabel (Reitz) Rauch. He was the loving husband of Barbara (Balliet) Rauch with whom he shared 63 years of marriage on April 5, 2021. George was a 1952 graduate of Slatington High School. In his youth, he was a player for various basketball and baseball Church Leagues in New Tripoli. In George’s early working years, he was a farmer in Lynn Township, and later went on to work for Mack Trucks. After retirement, he worked for Baer Potato Farm, Lynn Township, and the Northwestern Rec. Fields as a groundskeeper. He was a volunteer for the Northwestern Ambulance Corps. George was a member of Ebenezer U.C.C. Church in New Tripoli. He was an avid Philadelphia sports fan. George was a dedicated family man and is survived by his wife, Barbara; two daughters, Kim, wife of John Martin and Karen, wife of Marvin Gruber; A beloved Ampa to his grandchildren, Tony (Sarah) Martin, Patrick Martin, Nicholas (Natalie) Gruber, Nathan (Liz) Martin and Jordan (Nathan) Gruber; five great-grandchildren and one expected in October; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Charles Rauch, and sisters Dorothy Dutt and Anna Long. George’s funeral service will be held on Monday, June 14, 2021 at 11:00 AM in Ebenezer U.C.C. Church, 7293 Decatur St. New Tripoli, PA 18066, with a calling hour to begin at 10:00 AM. Interment in adjoining cemetery. Rev. Walter Frisch will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name may be sent to New Tripoli Fire Company at 7242 Decatur St. New Tripoli.
