Franklin J. Seyfried, 74, of Kempton, PA, formerly of Bethlehem Township, PA, passed away on August 17, 2023 in the Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest, Allentown, PA. He was the husband of Mabel E. (Horning) Seyfried, with whom he celebrated 53 years of marriage in June of 2023. Born in Fountain Hill, PA, he was a son of the late John and Alma (Diefenderfer) Seyfried.
Frank was a Viet Nam Veteran, having served his country in the US Army. He later worked at Bethlehem Steel for 30 years. Frank also owned and operated the former Seyfried Auto Repair Co. in Bethlehem. Lastly, he worked at Air Products in Allentown before retiring in 2009. Frank was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 379 in Bethlehem. He was a member of both the Ontelaunee Rod and Gun Club in New Tripoli, and the Train Collectors Association in Strasburg.
In addition to his loving wife, Mabel, he is survived by his daughter, Jennifer A. Seyfried wife of Steven VanZandt of Orlando, FL; sister, Nancy Zoltack of Walnutport; brother, William (Linda) Seyfried of Bethlehem. He was predeceased by sisters, Charlotte King and Mildred Seyfried.
There will be a private memorial service held at the convenience of the family in the Nester Funeral Home, 8405 Kings Highway, New Tripoli. Rev. Dr. Robert Santucci will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Frank’s name may be sent to the American Legion Post 379 at 622 5th Avenue Bethlehem, PA 18018.
