Eula Harrington Obituary

Eula Mae Harrington, 104, passed peacefully on January 23, 2025 and entered Heaven joyfully. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she will be remembered for her love of God and her family.

Born June 18, 1920 in Elkins, West Virginia to the late Holt and Belva Chenoweth, Eula was the youngest of eight children. In her early 20’s, Eula ventured from the mountains where she grew up with no electricity or indoor plumbing to live in Baltimore, MD where she met Charles. They married on May 16, 1943, and enjoyed 74 years together. They had three sons, 13 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Eula worked for the former A & P Market in Essex, MD for 25 years, from 1958-1983.  After retirement, she moved to Florida with Charles for 8 months of the year where they enjoyed attending church, outings with friends, and shopping. In their early 90’s, they moved to New Tripoli, PA to be with family. Still an independent woman, she kept home in their apartment and spent time reading her Bible, watching sermons on TV, and enjoying pictures of her family when they weren’t there in person.

Eula was a hard worker who never left a task undone. Her family often found her bustling around the house keeping everything in order. She loved to feed her family and would always offer a sweet treat. Eula took pleasure in watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren laugh and play together.

Eula is survived by her sons, Patrick and his wife Lola Harrington of New Tripoli, and Philip Harrington of MD; her grandchildren, Sean Harrington, Patrick Harrington Jr, Amanda Soule, Adam Harrington, Rachel Tapper, Ashley Harrington, Mia Harrington, Alana Harrington, Lydia Harrington, Hallie Harrington, Taylor Moore, and Kevin Harrington; her great-grandchildren, Molly Laros, Ian Laros, Adalyn Tapper, Kenley Tapper, Charles Harrington, Ellie Harrington, Roree Velazquez and Leslie Velazquez; and her daughter-in-law, Janie Harrington. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, her son, Donald Harrington, granddaughter, Heather Laros, and her 7 siblings.

Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Bethany Wesleyan Church Benevolence Fund, P.O. Box 999 Cherryville, PA 18035.
