Ernest D. Snyder, 84, of New Tripoli, Pa. died on Friday morning, October 10, 2014, in the Cornerstone Living Center, New Tripoli. He was predeceased by his wife Kathryn E. ( Koenig) Snyder in 2013. He was born in New Tripoli, a son of the late Clarence D. and Laura ( Heilman) Snyder. Ernest was a life long self employed farmer and later a carpenter retiring in 1985. During this time he also was employed as a school bus driver for the Northwestern School District. He was a member of Ebenezer UCC Church of New Tripoli, where he served as a former consistoryman and cemetery board member. He was a 1948 graduate of Slatington High School. Survivors includes a daughter, Gail K. wife of Ross Post, New Tripoli; a son Gregory L. Snyder and his life partner, James Kendall of Lancaster; a brother, Carl G. Snyder and his wife Arlene of Breinigsville, and 3 grandchildren. He was predeceased also by 3 sisters and 3 brothers. His Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2014 at 11:00 AM in Ebenezer U.C.C. Church 7293 Decatur Street, New Tripoli, Pa. 18066, with a calling period beginning at 9:30 AM. Rev. Kevin D. Fruchtl will officiate. Interment will take place in the adjoining cemetery. Memorial contributions are requested to the Ebenezer UCC Memorial Fund sent to the above church address.
