Doris J. (Fenical) Swartwood

Doris J. (Fenical) Swartwood, 82, of Kutztown, PA, passed away at her home on Sunday, December 3, 2023, with her loving family by her side. She was the widow of Cecil E. Swartwood, Sr., who passed away in 1992.

Doris worked in food service for many years. She later worked in the heat seal screen printing department at Daytimers, Inc. in Allentown, PA. Doris was of the Lutheran faith. Her biggest joy in life was her family. She enjoyed playing cards, and crocheting, and had a specific fondness for owls.

Doris is survived by her sons, Dale E. Swartwood and wife, Vicki F. of Fleetwood, PA and Cecil E. Swartwood, Jr. and wife Anna R. of Hamburg, PA; daughter, Joyce A. wife of Michael Szedon of Kutztown; grandchildren, Dale E. Swartwood, Jr., David B. Swartwood, and Shannon Hughes; great-grandchildren, Brittany, Tyler, Kyle, Zoe, Dylan and Jackson Swartwood, Paisley and Hudson Hughes; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a grandson, Cecil (PJ) E. Swartwood, III; siblings, Albert Fenical, Hannah Strouse, and Verna Starkes.

There will be a private graveside funeral service held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Doris’s name may be made online to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org.
