Darlene A. Wertman, 83, of New Tripoli, PA, went home to be with the Lord on May 8, 2026, from Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest in Allentown. Darlene was born on March 22, 1943. She was the daughter of the late Ida (Hartman) Wertman and the late Lester Wertman, who was killed at the Battle of the Bulge on December 25, 1944, during WWII.
She graduated from Northwestern High School in 1961 and later received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Bloomsburg State College. She was a Business Education Teacher at Northwestern Lehigh High School. Darlene was a member and a former junior choir member of Ebenezer Church in New Tripoli. She was also a member of the New Tripoli and Lynnport Fire Companies.
Survivors: Cousins. She was predeceased by her companion, John Brenssinger.
There will be a private graveside funeral service held at Ebenezer Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name may be sent to Ebenezer Church, 7293 Decatur Street in New Tripoli.
