Charles Robert Petrie, 38, of New Tripoli, PA, died due to Pelizaeus-Merzbacher Disease on May 29, 2023, at home. He was born October 20,1984 in Landstuhl, Germany, the son of Lu (McKenney) and Charlie Petrie. Rob graduated from Potomac High School, class of 2003, in Dumfries, Virginia.
Rob was an Eagle Scout with BSA. He was a volunteer with Canine Companions, a wonderful organization that provides service dogs to increase independence to those with disabilities. He attended A Place To Be, a fabulous therapeutic arts center, for many years. Rob loved therapeutic horseback riding, most recently at Equi-librium therapeutic riding in Nazareth, PA.
He was an avid fisherman and loved playing Uno, Risk and Monopoly with family and friends. Rob loved to work out, appreciated a good joke, and enjoyed watching The Big Bang Theory.
Rob predeceases his parents and his siblings, Jason Petrie, and his wife, Lyndsay Petrie, of Bealeton, Virginia, and his sister, Remi Petrie, and her spouse Shuji Ali of Hayward, California. He also predeceases his loyal and loving Canine Companions service dog, Sterling.
A private service will be held at the convenience of the family in the Nester Funeral Home, Inc., New Tripoli, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to any of the following:
