Betty O. (Kunkel) Bond, 94, of Kutztown, formerly of Kempton, PA., passed away peacefully on June 1, 2021 in the Laurel Center, Hamburg, PA. She was the widow of Norman P. Bond. Born in Albany Township, PA., she was the daughter of the late Albert and Virgie (Bailey) Kunkel. Betty was a 1944 graduate of Slatington High School. She was a member, former choir member, and former flower committee member of the New Bethel Church, Kempton, PA. She was also a member of the Women’s Auxillary of Kempton Fire Co. Survivors include her three daughters, Ann L. Bliss, and Sharon K. Kistler, both of Breinigsville, PA., Cynthia D. Wessner, Collegeville, PA.; son, Dale A. (Cheryl) Bond, Hamburg, PA.; eleven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Betty’s memorial service will be held on June 9, 2021 at 11:00 AM in the Robert S. Nester Funeral Home, 8405 Kings Highway New Tripoli, PA 18066. Calling hour to begin at 10:00 AM. Private interment in New Bethel Union Cemetery, Kempton, PA. Deacon Larry Lonergan will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name may be made to the New Bethel Church Memorial Fund sent to the funeral home address above.
