Bernetta A. Christ 90, of Maxatawny , Pa. passed away on January 17, 2014 in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown, Pa. She was the loving wife of Harold F. Christ, having celebrated their 73rd. wedding anniversary in October, 2013. She was born in Lynnport, Pa. a daughter of the late Irwin G. and Molly ( Gernert) Snyder. She was last employed as a repairer for the former Wenton Shoe Factory, Kutztown, for 15 years retiring in 1969. Prior to that she worked on her family’s farm in the Krumsville area. She was a member of Mount Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Kutztown, Pa. Survivors besides her husband includes a son, Donald H. Christ and his wife Arline, of Pottstown, Pa.and 3 grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son Larry Christ in 2007 and a grandson Kirk Christ in 1989. Her Funeral Service will be held on Friday, Feb. 21, 2014 at 11:00 AM in the Nester Funeral Home- 8405 Kings Highway ( Rt. 143), New Tripoli, Pa.18066, with a calling hour beginning at 10:00 AM. Rev. James R. Hammond will officiate. Interment in New Bethel Zion Cemetery, Kutztown. Contributions in her memory are requested to Mt. Zion Evangelical Luth. Church Memorial Fund, 1343 Long Lane, Kutztown, Pa 19530.
