Andrew J. (Andy) Watson, Jr.

Andrew J. (Andy) Watson, Jr., 69, of New Tripoli, PA, passed away peacefully at home on February 1, 2023, surrounded by his family, after a hard-fought battle with cancer. Andy lived life to the fullest. He was born on April 4, 1953 in Philadelphia, a son of the late Andrew J. Watson, Sr. and Donna V. (Hurd) Watson. Andy graduated from Neshaminy High School, where he met his wife, Caren (Bernhardt). Married for nearly 50 years, they raised three children on their farm in New Tripoli.

Andrew was a second-generation builder, owning AJW, Inc. He instilled those skills and incredible work ethic in his two sons, Drew (Lauren) and Keith (Jennifer). Beyond building, Andy was an avid hunter who passed that enthusiasm on to his sons and daughter, Vicki (Daniel) Watt, as well. He traveled the country hunting with many friends, but his favorite trips were those he shared with his family. Even his wife, Caren, was able to share an incredible hunt and adventure with him in Alaska.

When not hunting, Andy enjoyed spending time with his family and friends at their shore house in New Jersey. His love and passion for deep-sea fishing was palpable. You often found him searching for a new duck decoy to add to his collection or cleaning and organizing his meticulously kept garage. He lived by the phrase “a place for everything and everything in its place.”

He had a life well-lived. Beyond his many outdoor adventures, Andy was a legend in his community. He was a member of several local clubs and enjoyed gathering with friends at many local bars. His “Watson Shuffle” was often imitated, but never duplicated, and will go down in history as one of the greatest dance moves. His laughter and wit will be missed by many.

He will be missed by his sister, Donna Lee (William) Pulak and his nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Kirk J. Watson. The family hopes to keep his memory alive for his grandchildren, Tyler and Alexis Watson, Addison Watt, and Charlotte and Hailey Watson. They know he is at peace now and celebrating with his family, friends, and most importantly, his beloved dogs that have gone before him.

A celebration of life gathering will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2023 from 2-6 PM at Lotus Springs, 6547 Hollenbach Road New Tripoli, PA 18066.
