Janet L. (Kemmerer) LeVan

Janet L. (Kemmerer) LeVan, 82, of Slatington, PA. passed away at the St. Luke’s Hospice House, Bethlehem, PA. on May 9, 2019. She enjoyed 43 years of marriage with her husband, the late Marlyn R. LeVan, before his passing in 1999.  She was born in Ashfield, PA., a daughter of the late Reuben J. and Kathryn E. (Jones) Kemmerer.  Janet was a 1954 graduate and former majorette of Slatington High School.  She was a secretary for the former LeVan Trucking in Wanamakers, PA., the former Krause Dodge Toyota, Schnecksville, PA., and Albright’s Mill of Kempton, PA. She was a member of Slatington Baptist Church, Slatington, PA. She greatly enjoyed Wednesday Bible Study, shopping, fashion, and had a love of animals.  Survivors include her daughter, Michelle A. wife of Wilson Reppert, Lenhartsville, PA.; son, Rev. James W. (Wendy) Levan, Slatington, PA.; sister, Betty Lou wife of Lewis Rauch, Schnecksville, PA.; brother, Robert D. (Polly) Kemmerer, Allentown, PA; sisters-in-law, Marlene J. wife of Richard Smith, Doylestown, PA., Rose Marie Mudrick, Orefield, PA., and Mary Ann Kemmerer, Orefield, PA.; seven grandchildren, Angelique (Joel), Scarlett (Bobby), Magdalena (Shane), Storm, Luke, Aaron, and Daniel; one great-grandson, Holden James; several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her brother, Bruce A. Kemmerer.  Janet’s Memorial Service will be held on Monday, May 20, 2019 at 11:00 AM. in Slatington Baptist Church, 509 Main Street Slatington, PA 18080, with a visitation period beginning at 10:00 AM. Private interment in Jacob’s Cemetery, New Tripoli, PA. Rev. James W. LeVan will officiate.  In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to be sent in her name directly to Slatington Baptist Church, address listed above.
