Evelyn A. Schlenker, 92, of Kempton, passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2017, in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest, Allentown, Pa. She was born in Crackersport, Pa, a daughter of the late James J. and Bertha T. ( Smith) Wisser. She was last employed as a machine operator at the former Deisher Knitting Mill, Kutztown, Pa. until retiring in 1984. Survivors includes a son, Herman C. Schlenker of Kempton, with whom she resided; six daughters, Barbara A. widow of Dale Bailey of Hamburg, Alana A. wife of Robert Reinhart of Kempton, Dolores J. wife of William “Jesse” Fajna of Reading, Kathleen M. Eschbach of Allentown, Madelyn R. Reimert of Kempton and Darlene M., widow of Floyd Fajna of Leesport, Pa.; a sister, Janet Faix of Andreas; 14 grandchildren;15 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Curtis Schlenker. Her Funeral Service will be held on Monday, July 31, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the Robert S. Nester Funeral Home, 8405 Kings Highway, New Tripoli, Pa. 18066, with a calling hour preceeding the service. Pastor Amy Kirkpatrick will officiate. Interment will follow in Berks Memorial Gardens, Fleetwood, Pa. In lieu of flowers contributions in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society,sent in care of the funeral home.
