Betty J. Kunkle, 77, of Spring City, PA., formerly of Krumsville, PA. passed away in her residence on January 5, 2019. She was the wife of the late Donald R. Kunkle, who passed away in 2013. She was born in Cumru Township, a daughter of the late Sylvester W. and Kathryn F. Burkhart. Betty was the former co-owner of Kunkle’s Farm Stand in the Allentown Farmer’s Market, but her true passion was to be at home raising her family. She was a member of New Jerusalem Zion U.C.C. Church in Lenhartsville, PA., where she also worked as a church secretary for several years. Survivors include three daughters, Brenda Webb of Bedford, PA., Diane, wife of the late Roger Billig, of Danville, PA., and Sheila, wife of Roy Schell, of Spring City, PA; one son, Randy (Coleen) Kunkle of Kutztown, PA.; twelve grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; four sisters, Shirley M. Ammarell of Mohrsville, PA., Barbara A. Leonhard of Bernville, PA., Kathryn F. Balthaser of Reading, PA., and Linda L. Vaitiskis of Fitzwilliam, NH.; one brother, Donald E. (Fern) Burkhart of Hamburg, PA. She was predeceased by a sister, Ruth R. Himmelberger of Virginia. Betty’s funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at 11:30 AM in the New Jerusalem Zion U.C.C. Church, 1456 Krumsville Road Lenhartsville, PA 19534, with a calling hour to begin at 10:30 AM. Interment immediately following service in the New Jerusalem Zion Cemetery. Pastor Tammie Wisniewski will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations in Betty’s name can be sent directly to New Jerusalem Zion U.C.C. Church.
