Vera Mae Knabb, 83, of Coopersburg, PA passed away at her home on Friday, March 8, 2024. She was the widow of Daniel M. Knabb III, who passed away in 1985. Born in Taunton, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Mertys and Helen (Evans) Erwin.
Vera was a 1958 graduate of Taunton High School. She relocated to Emmaus, PA after she married her beloved husband Dan. Vera and Dan later moved to Coopersburg in 1979 to raise their family. She went on to work as an office manager for the Southern Lehigh School District Tax Office for over thirty years until retiring in 2010.
Vera was a very talented seamstress and was a member of the Allentown Couture Society where she received numerous accolades. She was also an avid bowler and spent many Thursday nights at Jordan Lanes bowling with her team the Que-Ettes. She also competed in several national bowling tournaments across the United States. Vera was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Allentown, PA.
Survivors include her son, Daniel M. Knabb IV, and his wife, Barbara Smith of Portland, OR; her daughter, Teal Eye Nester and her husband Joseph of Coplay, PA. She is also survived by her sisters, Audrey Libby of Attleboro, MA and Shirley Goldstein of Sandwich, MA; niece, Lori Holden and her husband, John of Attleboro, MA; along with several great nieces, nephews, and cousins. Vera was predeceased by her sister, Alberta Bulcamino; brother, Charles Erwin, and nephew, Scott Libby.
Vera’s memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Asbury United Methodist Church, 1533 Springhouse Road, Allentown, PA. Calling hour begins at 10:00 AM. Pastor Eric Yeakel will officiate.
