Rose M. "Rosy" (Levan) Mudrick

Rose M. “Rosy” Mudrick, 85, formerly of Orefield, PA, passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2024 at Cedarbrook Nursing Home in Allentown, PA. Born in Wanamakers, PA, she was the daughter of the late Paul G. and Elsie A. (Reinhart) Levan.

Rosy was a 1956 graduate of Slatington High School. She went on to become the proprietor of Wanamakers Hotel (Washington House) from 1970-1987. She later worked as a dining room manager for the Berkleigh Country Club in Kutztown and the Woodstone Country Club in Danielsville. She last worked for The Terrace at Phoebe in Allentown, until retiring in 2013.

Survivors include her son, Kurt R. Nissen of Orefield; daughters, Kelly A. Follweiler of Lehighton and Stephanie P. Farber of Orefield; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; sister, Marlene (Richard) Smith of Doylestown. She was predeceased by her brother, Marlin Levan.

Rosy’s funeral service will be held on Friday, April 5, 2024 at 7 PM in the Nester Funeral Home, 8405 Kings Highway New Tripoli, PA. Visitation will be from 5 PM until the time of the service. Rev. James W. Levan will officiate. There will be a private interment at Jacob’s Union Cemetery, New Tripoli. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Rosy’s name may be sent to the Alzheimer's Association at P.O. Box 96011 Washington, DC 20090.
