Mary Ann (Griffith) Herishko, 80, of Allentown, PA, passed away at Cornerstone Living in New Tripoli, PA on Wednesday, March 13th, 2024. She was the widow of William M. “Bill” Herishko, who passed away in 2022. They were happily married for 56 years. Born in Allentown, PA, she was the daughter of the late John and Viola (Allender) Griffith.
Mary Ann was among the first graduating class of Louis E. Dieruff High School in Allentown. She went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Education from Kutztown State College. Mary Ann was also first chair violin in the Kutztown Orchestra and loved to listen to her grandchildren perform on violin and piano on holidays. Mary Ann was a special education teacher before becoming a preschool teacher and director of St. Peter’s Nursery School in Allentown for over 25 years.
Survivors include her two daughters, Jennifer A. (James C.) Morykin of Pen Argyl, PA and Joanne G. Herishko of Harleysville, PA; two grandchildren, James "Ethan" and Stephanie A. Morykin. She was predeceased by her sister, Nancy Boyer.
There will be a memorial service held on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at 11:00 AM in the Cedar Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, 1700 Airport Road Allentown, PA 18109. Pastor Chris Druckenmiller of St. Peter’s Plainfield Lutheran Church will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mary Ann’s name may be sent to the Alzheimer's Association at P.O. Box 96011 Washington, DC 20090.
