Theron J. Jones, 87, formerly of New Tripoli, Pa. passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 in the Sacred Heart Senior Living facility in Center Valley, Pa,.He was preceeded in death by his wife Helen (Zana) Jones in 2012. He was born in Lynn Township, a son of the late Raymond and Violetta (Kistler) Jones. Theron was a lifelong self employed farmer in Lynn Township, and also a part time master stone mason, until retiring in 1989. He was a member and former Deacon at Jacobs Church , New Tripoli, Pa. He was a graduate of Slatington High School, class of 1947. Theron was a member of Slatington, Lodge # 440, F.& A.M., Royal Arch Chapter, Slatington, Pa., the Allen Commandry, Allentown, Pa and also the Rajah Shrine, Reading , Pa. He is survived by a daughter, Dr. Michele D. Jones of Allentown; a son Michael D. (Julie) Jones of Palmerton; two sisters, Betty Jane Steiner, Allentown and Violet Deibert, Cetronia, and two grandchildren, Theron and Dustin Jones. His Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at 11:00 AM in the Robert S. Nester Funeral Home, 8405 Kings Highway, New Tripoli, Pa. 18066, with a calling hour beginning at 10:00 AM.Rev. Scott L. Shay will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his memory are requested to Jacobs Church Memorial Fund, 8373 Kings Highway, New Tripoli, Pa. 18066.
