Robert E. Brong II

Robert Edgar Brong II, 72, of Kutztown, Pa. passed away at his residence on Saturday morning, July 1, 2017 surrounded by his wife, family and friends.  He was the husband of Missy R. (Fine) Brong having celebrated their 27th anniversary in October 2016. He was born in Allentown, son of the late Robert E & Lois (Hildt) Brong.  He was a 1963 graduate of Allentown High School and graduated from Muhlenberg College in 1987 with a degree in Psychology.  He was a 44-year employee of State Farm Insurance until his retirement in 2013, and was also a Navy veteran, having served in the Vietnam War.  He and his wife Missy were passionate dog fanciers.  Robert was a life-member and past president of The Lehigh Valley Kennel Club.  He was also a member and past president of the Rolling Thunder Chapter 1 Motorcycle Club, and member of the Berks HOG Motorcycle Club.  In addition to his wife, Robert is survived by his sister, Lois (Brong) Miller of Allentown, and two sons, Robert and Kevin, husband of Terri, both of Orlando, FL and two grand-children Jordan and Ryan also of Orlando.

Graveside services and interment with Military Honors will take place at the New Bethel Zion Cemetery, located at the intersection of Old Rt 22 and Long Lane Rd in Kutztown (address: 1343 Long Lane Rd, Kutztown, PA 19530) on Wednesday July 5, 2017 at 11:00am.  Senior Pastor, Dr. Bob Hylton will officiate.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory can be sent to support the Borzoi Health Fund (checks payable to BCOA Health), care of Janis A. Leikam, BCOA Treasurer, 12910 238th Street SE, Snohomish, WA 98296-7872.
