Richard A. Yacobenas, 87, of Slatington, Pa. passed away on Friday, November 6, 2015 in the Luther Crest Nursing Home, Allentown. He was born in Tamaqua, a son of the late Albert and Mary ( Shilko) Yacobenas. He was employed as a flagman and laborer for the Pa. Department of Transportation for many years, retiring in 1984. He was a member of St. Peter and Paul’s Catholic Church, Tamaqua, Pa. He is survived by two sisters, Theresa M. Ohl of New Tripoli and Rita V. Follweiler of Slatington, with whom he last resided, also five nieces and three nephews and their families. His Funeral Service will be held at the convenience of the family in the Robert S. Nester Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1066 West Penn Pike, New Ringgold, Pa. 17960, with interment in St. Peter and Paul’s Cemetery, Owl Creek, Pa. Arrangements by Nester Funeral Home, New Tripoli, Pa.
