Myles A. Miller, Sr., 95, of Tamaqua, formerly of Germansville, passed away on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown, Pa. He was preceeded in death by his wife Kathryn F.A. ( DeLong) Miller in 1990. He was born in Lynn Township, a son of the late Charles F. and Anne L. (Bachman) Miller. Myles was a life long self employed farmer in the Germansville and New Tripoli area until retiring in 1987. During this time he also was involved in auto sales working at various car dealerships in the Lehigh Valley area. He later operated his own auto sales business at his residence in Germansville during the 1970’s. He was a member of Heidelberg U.C.C. Church, Slatington, Pa. Myles was a 1938 graduate of Slatington High School, later attending Franklin and Marshall College in Reading. He enjoyed hunting and snow mobiling in Potter County. He is survived by three sons, Myles A. Miller, Jr. and his wife Lorraine of Schnecksville, Harold D. Miller and his wife Nancy of Whitehall and Lee R. Miller and his wife Ruth of Tamaqua, with whom he last resided, and six grandchilderen, 10 great-grandchildren and a companion, Ida Wertman of New Tripoli. He was predeceased by a son Glenn C. Miller and siblings, Ralph Miller, Leah Long, Paul Miller, Charles Miller and Warren Miller. His Funeral Service will be held on Monday, November 9, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the Nester Funeral Home, 8405 Kings Highway, New Tripoli, Pa. 18066, with a calling hour beginning at 10:00 AM. Pastor Karen Yonney will officiate with interment following in the Heidelberg Union Cemetery, Slatington. Contributions in his memory may be made to Heidelberg U.C.C.
