Lee Shrawder, 77, of Kempton, passed away at his home on Saturday, April 25, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Janice L. ( Tipsord)Schrawder having celebrated their 55th wedding aniversary in September of 2014. He was born in Norristown, Pa. a son of the late Francis S. and EleanorV.( Bennett) Shrawder. Lee was a 1955 graduate of Norristown High School and later received his bachelor degree in mechanical engineering from Indiana Technical Institute, Ft. Wayne, Indiana. He was an engineer for 9 years and then moved to Kempton where he spent the rest of his life farming and establishing Hawk Valley Farm, which sold wholesale and retail landscaping materials. He sang with two local groups, Summer Harmony, a mens chorus based in Allentown and the Zion Choral Society, a christian choir from Zionsville, Pa. Lee was a member of Jacobs Church, New Tripoli, Pa.
Survivors besides his wife includes two daughters, Danelle Louise Shrawder of Emmaus and Jennifer Lynn,wife of Brian Schumaker of Lenhartsville; four sons, James Lee (Elizabeth) Shrawder, John Scott Shrawder, both of Kutztown , Lawrence Alan Shrawder and Andrew Morgan (Karen) Shrawder both of Kempton; a sister, E. Virginia Stearly, of Phoenixville; eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
His Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at 6:00 PM in Jacobs Church , 8373 Kings Highway, New Tripoli, Pa. 18066, with a calling hour beginning at 5:00 PM. A private interment will take place in the adjoining cemetery. Rev. Scott L. Shay will officiate. In lieu of flowers contributions in his memory are requested to the American Cancer Society, 3893 Adler Place, Bethlehem, Pa. 18017.
