Joan E. Dotterer, 67, of Lenhartsville, formerly of Kempton, Pa. passed away on Saturday evening, May 23, 2015 in the St. Joseph’s Medical Center, Reading, Pa. She was born in Reading, a daughter of the late Melvin T. and Luella K. ( George) Dotterer. Her mother passed away on March 20, 2015. Joan was a member of the Weisenberg Lutheran Church, New Tripoli, Pa. She attended the Kutztown School District. She was a member of the Kempton Fire Co. and the Virginsville Grange. Among the many things she loved and enjoyed was working and helping, along with her mother, at the Kempton Community Center for their various activities. She liked to play Bingo and especially loved traveling with her mother to see many country music shows over the past years. Joan is survived by her sister, Judith A., wife of Dennis M. Stetzler of Lenhartsville with whom she last resided and nephews and nieces. Her funeral Service will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the Weisenberg Lutheran Church, 7645 Weisenberg Church Road, New Tripoli, Pa.18066. Rev. Raymond J. Hand will officiate. Calling hours will preceed the funeral service beginning at 9:30 AM. Interment will take place in the adjoining cemetery. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions, in her memory, be made to the Weisenberg Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, sent to the above church address.
