James E. “Jimmy” Rehrig, 76, of Walnutport, formerly of Lynnport, Pa. passed away on Wednesday Morning, July 12, 2017 in the Gracedale Nursing Home, Nazareth, Pa.He was born in New Ringgold, a son of the late Raymond H. and Katie E.(Nunemacher) Rehrig. Jimmy was a self employed carpenter and craftsman for many years until retiring in 2008. He was a 1958 graduate of Northwestern High School. James served his country faithfully and honorably during peacetime in the U.S. Air Force. He is survived by two daughters, Vikki L .wife of Michael Stoss, of Germansville, and Kelly R. Celeste and her friend Holly Snyder, of Slatington; a sister Betty Tonelis and a brother Larry L. Rehrig and his wife Ellen all of Allentown; 6 grandchildren, Jeremy Stoss, Shannon Prolog, Antonio Morales (T.J.),Kelsi Celeste Kristina Celeste and Michael Celeste and 7 great-grandchildren, Shayna Morales, Lauren Feinour, Landen Stoss, Jayden Morales, Ariana Hernandez, Bentley Prolog and Carter Morales and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by siblings Mamie Snyder, Evelyn Hemerly and Raymond Rehrig. His Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at 10:30 AM in the Robert S. Nester Funeral Home, 8405 Kings Highway, New Tripoli, Pa. 18066 with a calling hour beginning at 9:30 AM. Rev. Scott L. Shay will officiate. Burial will take place in Jacobs Union Cemetery, New Tripoli, Pa. In lieu of flowers the family has gratfully suggested that contributions in his memory, may be sent to the funeral home to help offset his final expenses.
