James A. Lohr, 72, of Kempton, formerly of Lansdale, Pa. passed away on Friday, October 28, 2016 in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest, Allentown, Pa.  He was preceded in death by his wife Billie Marie (Supplee) Lohr in 2010.  He was born in Norristown, a son of the late James G. and Helen F. (Coffman) Lohr. He attended Upper Merion High School, and later continued his studies at Villanova and Drexel Universities. James was an electrical engineer and computing system designer.  He was the past president of the former Aydin Corp , Computer Systems Div., Horsham, Pa. He later worked at Unisys, Global Industries, and with DRS Technologies.  From 2002 to present he was the sole proprietor of JalComm LLC, a professional service consulting practice. Much of his work was with the Department of Defense and NASA. James was a member of the US Navy where he served as an anti-submarine warfare electronic technician (AX-2) and a tactical coordinator on P5M and P3 ASW aircraft from 1961 to 1965. He was a life member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the American MENSA Assn. He attended the Good Shephard Luth. Church, King of Prussia, and the Christ Luth. Church, Harleysville, Pa.  He, loved entertaining and spending time with his immediate and extended family, cooking, fishing, trivia, international and domestic travel and poker in Las Vegas.  He is survived by Daughters: Melissa Lohr, Columbus, Ohio and Christine Lohr, Newtown;  Sons: James E. (Kathi) Lohr, Harleysville; Bruce (Donna) Lohr, Schwenksville; Daniel E. Lohr (fiancee Nicole), Lewisburg; a Sister, Linda Lohr, Palm Desert, CA and Brothers: William (Nancy)Lohr, West Chester and John Lohr. 9 Grandchildren: Stephanie (Eric), Andrew, Michelle, Tyler, Liam, Lindsay, Emma, Elise and Christie, 2 step-grandchildren: Quentin and Westen, and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Heidi Lohr.  His Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at 3pm at Good Shephard Luth. Church, 132 E. Valley Forge Road, King of Prussia, Pa.19406.
