Edward D. "Ed" Oswald, Sr.

Edward D. “ Ed” Oswald, Sr, 59, of West Lawn, Pa. died Sunday April 10, 2016 in the Reading Hospital and Med. Center, West Reading, Pa. He was the husband of Kathy A.

( Michalski) Oswald, having celebrated their 38 th. wedding anniversary on the day before he passed away. He was born in Reading, a son of Ray Oswald and his wife Carol (Young) of Lancaster and the late Shuree ( Hildenbrand) Oswald. Ed was an antique dealer operating out of the Adamstown Renningers Antique Markets and also Adams Antiques, retiring in 2015. Prior to that he was the owner and operator of the Wizzards of Oz Hair Salon and Oz Hair, both of Sinking Spring, Pa.  He was a 1974 Graduate of Wilson High School, West Lawn and a 1983 graduate of the Empire School of Cosmetology, Reading.  Ed formerly coached and was very active in the Lady Wizzards, AAU Basketball organization in Reading. He also sponsored various area race cars.

Survivors besides his wife, father and stepmother, includes aa daughter, Alexis R. Oswald, Wernersville, Pa; two sons, Edward D. Oswald, Jr. and Derek J. Oswald, both at home; two sisters, Wendy S.( Michael) Woytovich, Shillington and Kimberly (Joe) Donaldson, Lancaster; a brother Jason Oswald, Lancaster; his large extended family and two favorite friends,  Bailey the Boxer and Leo the cat.  He  was also predeceased by a daughter, Rebecca L. Oswald and a granddaughter, Maddison A. Oswald- Woll.  His Funeral Service will be held on  Friday, April 15, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the New Bethel Church , 135 New Bethel Church Road, Kempton, Pa. 19529, with calling hours beginning at 12:30 PM. Rev. David W. Blitch will officiate, Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery.  Arrangements entrusted to the Robert S. Nester Funeral Home, 8405 Kings Highway, New Tripoli, Pa 18066.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the funeral home to help defray Ed’s final expenses.  Online family condolences may be recorded at www.nesterfuneralhome.com.
